NEXLER
PENETRATOR G7
IN ACTION

INVESTMENT:

Place: Gdańsk, Stężycka Street

Facility: Complex of residential buildings

Contractor: CODAN Sp. z o.o,
Wojciech Tyborowski, the owner of the company with over 25 years of experience

The described investment is a housing estate consisting of four and five-storey multi-family buildings and is a multi-stage investment. Currently works include the construction of 7 additional residential buildings.

We had a scope of work to be performed, including the execution of waterproofing  and thermal insulation of roofs, as well as the zero level above the garage hall, i.e. patio. We have already worked at the earlier stages of this investment and we are glad that both the Investor and the General Contractor have put their trust in us again.

Preparation:

We started our part of the project after the General Contractor prepared a concrete ceiling for us. The roof had already made slopes from the concrete screed. We have primed the ceiling with NEXLER Penetrator G7 in a new formula. The next stages were a vapor barrier made of Nexler PJ G40 Medium roofing membrane and installation of milled polystyrene. The thickness of the thermal insulation was 22 cm. Then we put layers of self-adhesive Nexler STICK and the top layer - Nexler PREMIUM 53H.

Priming:

Penetrator G7 in the new formula was chosen by us due to the short drying time. Provides a good bonding layer. We were also pleasantly surprised by its smell, or rather the lack of it.

The work of the Contractor is a constant struggle against time. It is important to waterproof the ceiling as soon as possible. Then you can start further work, and any delay means unnecessary additional costs.

Unexpected rain on a construction site is normal, and without Penetrator G7, the ceiling absorbs moisture. This shifts all the work over time. The roof protection obtained by priming provides a moisture barrier. We can also remove water faster from the ceiling surface in case of bad weather. Even without our intervention, the moisture evaporates faster when the substrate has been properly protected with Penetrator G7.

Green Roof

The above-described arrangement is applicable to flat roofs. We use a completely different solution on the ceilings above the garage. Then the waterproofing is on the bottom - and we are dealing with the so-called inverted roof. On the bottom, we place two layers of roofing membrane - first the underlayer - IZOLMAT PLAN PYE PV250 S5.0, and then a layer of anti-root bitumen membrane IZOLMAT PLAN green roof PYE PV250 S5.0. Of course, here too, the correct priming of the surface is of particular importance. The G7 penetrator provided us with quick work and perfect protection of the substrate.

We put a construction foil on the two layers of waterproofing - the so-called slip layer, XPS 300 boards and geotextile. At the end, we unfold the drainage mat integrated with the geotextile. The rest is in the hands of gardeners, who scatter the soil layer to prepare the optimal substrate for future plantings.

We have used the above solutions on many investments. We are glad that thanks to the use of reliable materials, we have no complaints and there are more and more orders.

INVESTMENT:

Place: Duszniki Zdrój

Facility: A complex of post-industrial buildings prepared for commercial purposes. Flat roof 1,300 m²

Contractor: Mariusz Dąbrowski, many years of experience in the industry

It is a very interesting investment. The Automotive Electrical Engineering Plant in Duszniki has a beautiful history. I am glad that we are taking part in the work that will bring life back to this post-industrial complex. The investor plans to have a hotel, shops and a modern medical clinic.

Preparation:

We have been using NEXLERS's products for many years. We trust them and we know how they behave. I never forget to prepare properly the substrate. In this case, we had to renovate the roof. Roofing membrane was damaged and blisters appeared in many places. After thoroughly cleaning the old layer and locating and cutting the bubbles - we welded them.

Priming:

I was surprised by the efficiency and a much milder smell of Penetrsator G7 in new formula. The application was easy and its consistency allows for easy application with a roller. We didn't have any problems.

During the works, a light drizzle occurred after priming a part of the roof. Normally that would mean the end of the work. However, one of the workers took the risk and put the Penetrator G7 on a trial basis on a small section of the roof. After less than 25 minutes, the Penetrator was equally well absorbed into the substrate as in the part impregnated before rainfall. It was not heavy rain, of course, and there was no pool of water anywhere on the roof. Penetrator did it!
